I love to flip through food and decor magazines to draw inspiration for my food photography photos. As a food photographer starting out, you will usually be the photographer and the stylist. A great deal of work can go into curating and sourcing the items you see in a photo. For most shoots, I prefer a minimal look to create a clean and elegant look.
Being a visual learner has lent a great deal to contribute to my food photography styling. I have recently enjoyed creating my own floral designs for my home. I spend my free time reading and daydreaming about the next photo shoot.
Food styling can be fun, but at times can sometimes be overwhelming trying to make sure items fit together. I spend more time rotating things in and out as I try to create the setup of my photoshoot. I want most people to see the story when they see the photo. I am known for having good taste when it comes to food, but I want to be known for my excellent styling. I learned so much from my maternal grandmother when it comes to creating a certain mood or feel when I capture photos
Here are a few items I picked up from CB2 recently that you will see in my upcoming food and beverage photos.
